Today is a very sad day....I am currently wearing black and in a mourning phase.....tomorrow brings the first day of school for the students and the first day of another grueling 9 months. Don't get me wrong...I absolutely love my job- but when you are in charge of 58+ students all of whom have a nice little dedicated spot in the special education program, it can be a little challenging at times. However, a week ago we had open house for the families and it did make me excited to get back into the swing of things.
Below are my last few hours of summer....last night my brother Brad and his girlfriend Andrea came over with their new addition, Murphey so that he could hang out and play with Max and Riley. Is it sad that we arrange play-dates for our dogs?! ....we BBQ, played games and had a lot of fun....
Last Friday, Justin decided that he wanted to also have a 4 day weekend like his wife, so he took Friday off- we headed to Belle Plaine and went golfing with Angela and Jeremy. Although we didn't golf well at all- we sure had a nice day and a lot of fun...
After golfing on Friday, we headed to The Water Park of America with Nikki and Paige. We stayed the night, swam and hung out. Despite half the water park being closed down from being short staffed, we made it enjoyable. (We also complained about the park being down and got 4 free passes to use again!) Saturday morning we woke up and headed to the Great Minnesota Get Together. We ate ourselves plump, but couldn't find the chocolate covered bacon. I had two ears of corn to make up for the missing bacon on a stick. :)
Today Justin and I are still working on cleaning up the house. It seems that from September to June the house becomes neglected, so I guess you could say we're trying to be proactive this year. These past few weeks we've been working hard to organize and clean every corner, drawer and closet!....it feels so much better when everything has it's own little place!
Well, that's all for now folks!....Say a little prayer for me as we welcome back 1,200 students into Pinewood Elementary bright and early tomorrow morning!
