Four Lazy Bums

These four boys are guilty of being the biggest laziest bums today! We have been stuck with Jeff since yesterday....it is like he is our child. We sat down and had lunch together, he ate all my cookies that I baked straight out of the oven...he didn't even give them enough time to accumulate on the table to cool! Who knows when we'll finally get rid of him. It's 6pm on Sunday and he still has not left.

I, on the other hand was quite busy in the kitchen!

Homemade caramel puff corn, chocolate chip cookies,

sugar cut-out cookies, and snickerdoodles!

This was my first time EVER baking my mother's sugar cookies. It seems around the holidays that all frosted sugar cookies are the same....however, Justin and I both agree that although my mother does not do a lot of cooking or baking, one area that she has mastered is her sugar cookies! They taste like no other delectable holiday treat! Her trick is that they are thin, crisp and delicate...Mmmm....so yummy. Justin has been wanting me to start making them as well so I finally caved in and called my mom for the recipe. I must admit that mine don't taste near as good as hers.....mine are everything but thin, crisp and delicate. However, still pretty good for it being my first year....I apparently do not have the skill to roll the dough paper thin and than cut it out without tearing.....I'll keep at it each year though!

Well that was my weekend in a nutshell....(Jeff still has not left.) This week should fly by though! I have a four day week with a personal day on Friday and than TWO WEEKS OFF! (Big cheers!) Tomorrow is my pre-op appointment...getting closer and harder to back out....hmmm. So happy four day week to me! Hope yours goes by quickly too!
