As you can tell, life has been busy. (You must not mistake "busy" with "interesting or fun.") My job and completing my master's degree have kept my tied down for the past few weeks, and I am afraid it will only get worse until that graduation deadline! However, I was able to escape for a brief moment Saturday morning. This weekend Justin and I met up with our friends Kerby and JP to support an awesome foundation called the Liz Logelin Foundation. Kerby and I are both dedicated readers to Matt Logelin's blog. Matt, husband to Liz, lost Liz within 48 hours after she gave birth to their beautiful daughter Madeline. He has since chronicled their journey through a very real and raw blog page that has attracted thousands of readers. He has been interviewed by Oprah, Rachel Ray, People Magazine and many more. The coolest part is that he is from Minnetonka, Minnesota. So he brought Liz's foundation back home and hosted a 5K fundraiser around Lake Calhoun this past weekend. Kerby and I signed up to help support, and we even dragged the boys along!
We had awesome weather and were even able to shake Matt's hand and meet adorable little Madeline! I am very happy that we took part in the fundraiser, I heard on the news that the 5K raised over $9,000! The money is used to help other young individuals who have lost a spouse. Him and his daughter are very inspiring people! Very cool that we were able to meet them!
