Max's New Family

Now that some time has passed, I would like to share with you all how great of a family we found for Max...They are currently a family of four, soon-to-be-five, as they are adopting a toddler from Peru in a few months. They have two other younger boys approximately four and six years of age. They also have a large dog (bigger than Max) named Bear, a smaller bichon (Like Riley) and a cat...so Max is one of many four-legged friends! Matt is a huge bird hunter and was anxious to see how Max would do, his wife stays at home and is an avid runner, she was looking forward to racing Max. The couple has always owned dogs, and in the past have adopted rescue dogs who seemed like they were quite the challenge, so we know this family is patient enough for Max...We dropped him off on a Friday, and the family has been nothing short of amazing. The two young boys took a liking to Max immediately and chased him all over their huge house and yard calling his name, begging for him to chase them. Max did an amazing job with the boys and enjoyed being at eye-level with them! He slopped wet kisses all over the boy's faces and the boy's referred to these wet kisses as "autographs!" They ran all over the house asking for Max's "autograph" and as soon as he laid a wet one on them, they ran away screaming, "I GOT MAX's AUTOGRAPH, HE LOOOOOOVES ME!!!" It was adorable. It took every bit of strength in me not to call, e-mail or stalk down their home. So when the three-week milestone hit, I e-mailed Matt. Click on the e-mail below to read his response. It is nothing new to Justin and I, but definitely gave us some much needed laughs and comfort.

We are very fortunate to have found such a loving home for him. The only hard part is that he is in a new home, that offers him much more freedom and happiness than we could have here in Elk River.
