Today would have been my last day of work for this school year. Hard to believe that the year is already over! For the past three weeks I have had the best long-term substitute filling in for me. The guy filling in was an easy choice, as he was the social worker in my position for many years. He retired three years ago, and that is how I have my job! So it was a very easy transition for students and staff. Now if only I can get him to come back for the three months next school year! I was very fortunate to have a replacement that allowed me to walk away and not have a single concern about what was going on with my students! Not only did he do a fantastic job, but he also had the kids make me cards. It was awesome to read so many cards from all my kiddos back at work. I already miss them! They offered some great advice, asked some thoughtful questions and stated some facts. In honor of the last day of school, I thought I would share some of the cards with you! In case you do not read "elementary" I have translated for you under each photo.

Oh these kids just crack me up!
In other news, Hannah had a two-week check-up this morning and she is doing well! She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight! haha, so growing is not an issue! She has gained back all her birth weight...and then some. :) I am also happy to report that last night she slept in four-hour stretches which resulted in only ONE night time feeding! Hooray! (We are not counting on this happening every night, but we'll take it when it happens!) Hannah continues to do great at home- she has been smiling more which, yes, is attributed to gas. However, we pretend it is because she recognizes and loves us. She also has been cooing more and adding to her funny faces. Hannah and I passed the test of being home alone for a week. Another hooray! Next week is going to be a busy one. So time will fly by. Daddy is home alone with Hannah for a few hours on Monday, we have our first play-group on Wednesday and than I will be away from Hannah for an entire day on Friday as I have to go into work from 8am until 5pm. (I will most likely be a wreck and constantly calling my parents to check in on her...) :) So the Johnstons are trucking on...and still enjoying every moment with our little girl who is growing so incredibly fast!
*Have a great weekend everyone- and to all my educator friends, Happy Summer!!*
