Do you feel neglected?...
...we've been busy.
This past week I was asked by my school district to attend a training that would officially certify me to handle "crisis situations." (a.k.a. we have a few students who have become aggressive) so they wanted to prepare a few staff so that we are able to react in the most appropriate way possible. This training sent me and another coworker (in rush hours) all the way to Rosemount for the past four days. The class was pretty physical as we learned how to appropriately restrain individuals, take them down to the ground and how to talk an individual out of a crisis. The whole class ended with two formal tests that threw me into a state of anxiety. A formal paper-pencil test and then to top it off we had to actually perform specific physical holds on our partner as our instructor rated our performance. Argh. We will not know if we pass until sometime this next week. I am feeling pretty confident (or else I wouldn't be writing about it!). This is definitely a training that taught me many skills that I hope to never have to use. I will say, that absolutely nothing is more awkward than having to restrain your male co-worker and twist him into weird positions as you lay on top of him.....and vice-versa. I now know my (already dear friend) John, just a little bit better than I would like to.

Next week, I look forward to spring break and catching up from being gone from work for the past four days. For now, I am going to go and cuddle in bed with a good movie and my husband who has been nothing short of a champ as I have been so pre-occupied this past week with work and studying.

Goodnight!
