12 Month Update

Best Moment This Month:

Definitely her birthday party. Hands down, no doubt about it.

What We Miss:

When she laid still for diaper changes. Now it’s an acrobatic act every time she’s on the changing table.

Working On:

Still attaching words to people and things, loosening up her leg muscles so that she is not constantly on her tippy-toes, and imitating play.

Holy Cow:

This girl is no longer a baby. She is a toddler who watches, copies, and tests her limits. She also has established a “lovey.” Her blankie that she sleeps with goes everywhere with her now. She crawls into her room and pulls it from her crib. We’re trying to institute some boundaries of where her “lovey” should and should not go….but it’s hard when she wants it all the time.

Loves:

Music, Riley, dancing, being outside, fruits, jumping, and climbing furniture.

Hates:

When you take her toothbrush away.

Milestones:

Walks with only one hand being held, stands independently without support for a few second at a time (about 30 tops), walks behind her walkers, babbles, has recently started “showing off” to other people by acting like a complete lunatic….screeching, laughing, kissing…the whole gig.

Looking Forward To:

Summer. We’re getting a new deck in a few weeks and I cannot wait to fill it with toys. Hannah can play and Mommy can tan. :) Oh…and relief from daycare bills…at least for a little while.

Other Stats:

Size 5 diapers, 2T clothing, two naps a day, bedtime is at 7:15pm and she usually wakes around 7:15am if we let her sleep. Three solid meals, one snack and two bottles. Half on cow’s milk and will soon be all on cow’s milk and no bottles as soon as I am done with work…Still pretty laid back kid. Easily entertained, not real fussy or crabby- still very observant…
