Hannah's First...

....Great Minnesota Get Together...

It was a good day to head to the State Fair. In a failed attempt to avoid the big crowds, Justin took Friday off of work and we entered the fairgrounds shortly after 9:30am. However, within a couple hours- it was packed. So we were those people steering a bulky stroller through the fairgrounds. (pre-children...I gave dirty looks to those people as they ran over my feet with their bulky strollers.) Hannah had her fill of strawberries and cream, a hotdog and fresh lemonade. She also enjoyed the Giant Slide (although she looks petrified in the photos...she liked it, I swear.) But her favorite part was a hands on kids exhibit. This walk-through interactive exhibit showed kids how food gets in our grocery stores. She was greeted with an apron and a tin pail and was immediately put to work. First feeding the pretend animals, then planting seeds to grow her produce, collecting fresh (pretend) eggs, milking (pretend) cows, and much more. The exhibit ended with the kids shelving all of their items on "grocery stores" shelves and finally walking through to the grand finale. They were "paid" for their hard work and got to pick out one treat and cash in their paycheck. It was super adorable and Hannah loved it. Enjoy some photos...

It was a fun morning with Hannah at the fair, there is so much for kids to do there. One of the fair highlights was seeing our good friend Jarod Olson there! Of course we ran into him on Machinery Hill....only makes sense. :) But what was more exciting was that it was his first time ever meeting Hannah! Unfortunately for Jarod, she had just tasted her first sweetness of strawberries and cream, so she really cared less about Jarod and more about getting messy. But it was so nice to see him...and a good ole shout out to Mrs. Olson...who according to her son Jarod, "My mom lives for every single update on your blog. She is constantly reading it and updating me." Thanks for following Mrs. Olson! :)

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend- ours was very busy!
