We were finally able to pick Max up and bring him home!
It's been a fun day filled with laughter over simple moments of Max's clumsiness, hopping, meeting Riley, and puppy exploring! Below are a few of Max's first moments caught on camera! Stretching his legs in his new yard, helping with laundry, opening my birthday presents, sleeping, playing and bugging his new brother!
Max sleeps a lot as a new puppy tends to do. But in between those long naps he wakes up just enough to annoy his older brother, Riley. His favorite trick?....whipping out those sharp baby teeth of his and biting Riley's fluffy tail! He was caught in the middle of action in the photo below!
All-in-all, they are friends so far! They even took a snooze together after
"helping with the laundry!"
As many pet owners have often experienced with a new family member, the name might possibly change a few times before settling on a final name. So I must retract a post from before where I said we settled on Max's name. He is now:
Maximus Fudge Johnston
Justin said "Maxwell" sounded like coffee and apparently "Maximus" is more "manly!" Fudge is in honor of where he was born and spent his first few months. His breeder's family nicknamed him Fudge and so we found it only appropriate that he carry on that name! Although today has been fun, the next few nights will prove to be our biggest challenge. I'll continue to keep you all updated!

I am so sad that I couldn't be there with you for the big 2-5. I just want you to know that I was thinking about you, and there in spirit. This is the first time I've logged into your blog, and it's making me want to start one of my own! I miss you lots, and can't wait to see you in a few weeks.
