Waiting...

Justin has been gone in Iowa for work. Luckily he is due to arrive back home late this evening. However before he left, he gave baby and I one single job: Not go into labor. Well I am happy to report that I have successfully completed that mission, but not without a little climactic event to stir things up! Today at work I started feeling a little "crampy" around 11ish. Amongst some other weird things going on (I will spare you the details.) I decided to call my Doctor to check in. Then without warning, all of a sudden I was being admitted into the hospital and they had me all set up in a birthing suite! They hooked me up to monitors and asked me a bazillion questions. To make a long boring story short- I am showing all symptoms of pre-term labor except having 4-6 hourly contractions. They kept me for a while to see if my contractions would steady out or increase while being there- but they never did. They still stuck around 1-3 an hour. It was kind of cool to watch my contractions on the monitor! I kept calling my contractions, "cramping" while talking with the nurse until she kindly reminded me, "Honey, those are not cramps that you are having- those peaks are contractions." (haha!) After monitoring the baby and I they decided to send me home until the contractions became more consistent and regular. Everything else was looking great. She assured me that if I should go into labor within the next few days that they would not stop the process since I am far enough along in my pregnancy. I asked her excitedly if this means she would be seeing me again soon for the "real deal." And she said that it could mean that I had the baby tonight- or it could mean that I held off until my due date. She said she has seen it play out both ways before and so not to get my hopes up. (darn.)
At some point I called Justin and he began freaking out. Even though I assured him a million times over that there was nothing to freak out about. Finally it hit me. He was not freaking out that I had been in the hospital (after all, he knew everything was OKAY.)- he was freaking out because it hit him that this child literally could come at any moment now. (hehe.)

Due to some of my other "symptoms" I was told to keep it low-key tonight, but you can bet that I will be back in action walking the halls of Pinewood tomorrow morning!
Stay Tuned.

When I first read the sentance about the "bazillion questions", I thought it said "brazilion questions"...that would have been much more interesting coming from an OB nurse
