Today was just another day in Chicago!...A lot of walking! We headed to the
Field Museum. Which houses the world's largest and most intact (90% to be exact) T-Rex. Amongst its large dinosaur exhibit, there were many other artifacts to be seen...

This is the remains of a woman found in a cave in France.

This is a 48 carat diamond...

These were just plain disturbing...shoes for women in China back when they bound their feet. Reminds me of the book
Snowflower and the Secret Fan. (Highly recommend.) Just to put the size in perspective, these are the same size as an infants 6-12 month shoe.

And this is "Sue." The 7-ton T-Rex found in the Badlands of South Dakota. She was 28 when she died and is the largest, most intact T-Rex on display. Some of her teeth are 12 inches long and between the years of 13 and 18 she gained an average of 1,600 pounds a year.

The museum was fun and interesting for approximately 30 minutes of the 4 hours that we were there. The rest all burred together. You can only see so many bones and
clay pots before they all start blurring together. Plus, I find it entirely creepy to stare and skeletons and mummies. Justin enjoyed himself though- and today was
his day to do whatever he wanted...so just like yesterday on
my day of shopping on Michigan- I followed his lead and found benches to sit on while he explored. The only difference is that museums are kept dark, and I wanted to curl up into fetal position as we entered "Ancient Americas," (only the 3rd exhibit) and cry myself to sleep because I was so bored. (Okay, done complaining.)
After walking 2 miles to get to the museum, walking around the museum, and walking back- I am tired. So we are back at the hotel resting up before heading out again. Tomorrow we head home and I cannot describe how much I MISS my dear Hannah. I am going to suffocate her with kisses and snuggles.
