When Daddy Is Away, We Will Play...

(Argh. Frustrations with Blogger....it will only let me enlarge the first two photos on one post...)
So go ahead and click on them if you would like to see them larger.

Anywhoo....one with the goods.
I hate the heat. I especially hate the heat when I am hugely uncomfortable. (and yes, I realize I still have three months to go.) So- I create fun little activities to do indoors. (Thanks to Pinterest) I found a recipe for window paint and knew immediately that this was an activity to do when OCD-Clean-and-Neat-Justin was gone. :) Hannah could have played for another hour, but I needed to leave enough time to clean up before Justin got home from work. :)  Enjoy some photos of our window painting fun...

Recipe: Mix equal parts of dish soap and washable finger paint together.

Enjoy the mess. (Because it makes a HUGE mess.)

Camera Phone Update

Here is what we have been up to:
Free community shows in the park... this one was a bit creepy- but Hannah enjoyed the clown show. This week is some yo-yo guy so we will check it out again.

Beating the heat by staying indoors...pulled out all of our "rainy day" activities....

Not sure what this next photo has anything to do with....er, just kidding. I eat a lot of ice cream.

Hating the construction going on right next door. Hannah sleeps right through it- but I do not.

Checked out the Ramsey County library in Roseville and happy to report that Hannah loved it.

We had to leave early though because Hannah is in this relentless "MINE!" stage. Every time a kid walks within a 3 foot radius of Hannah, she yells, "MINE!" It's embarrassing- and although developmentally appropriate, it needs to pass. If I received one penny for every time the word "share" comes out of my mouth on a daily basis- I wouldn't worry anymore about being broke on my upcoming maternity leave.
-
In other summer news- we are staying indoors and cool. I enjoyed being pregnant in the winter- the summer is a whole other story. Ick. Hannah is in a huge baby phase right now. She is all about her baby dolls. They have to ride in the car with her, go grocery shopping with her, take naps, take baths, eat after her, snack after her, color with her....argh. The list goes on. I guess it is good practice for when baby brother arrives. Just be warned, little man, she carries her babies around one of two ways: 1. One foot so they are dangling upside down or 2. By the tops of their heads.
You have been warned little brother!
-
About little brother, our next appointment is Monday afternoon followed by a tour of the hospital on Wednesday. Justin has yet to start his room and has since told me that if he has not started it by August 1st, then I can get knee deep in planning and decorating. So we shall see if he steps up to the challenge in the next couple of weeks.

I think that is it for updates- stay cool everyone!

Summer Review

Three whole days I have been on summer vacation. One would do the math at three whole mornings that I was able to sleep in. But no. And it's not Hannah's fault- little girl has been a trooper, sleeping well past 8am (which makes this whole thing even that more frustrating!!). My very first day of summer sleep in is the exact same day that they decide to start the new construction on the house directly next door to ours. You would think that they have laws about how early you can start drilling, hammering and swearing at your coworkers...but apparently 6:30am is the start time for these guys. And if new construction is not bad enough, two houses down they have been drilling huge stakes into the ground to hold up two gigantic tents for our new neighbor's wedding this weekend. They also have an early start time. Don't they know some people are trying to sleep in around here?!?! (Don't worry, Justin does not feel bad for me either.) I am however am thankful that Hannah can sleep through it in the mornings. Gets her ready for a crying baby at all hours of the day! :)

Now onto the rest of our three-day summer updates. This is my little phone dump as I have been too lazy to grab my nice camera and haul it around.
We got grass!

Little H running errands with her Mama.

More things to do!...Lots of time in the car!

Looking too big to be my girl.

Thanking Pinterest for fun little activities that entertain Hannah for endless time. (And helping her fine motor skills!)

Preschool time- ipad style! :)

But wait, Daddy comes home and after a day with Mama of having to abide by rules and follow directions- all bets are off and it's time to wrestle.

This looks like a great idea- human trampoline...until she tries it on her Mama.
In other news, I have made it my personal mission to have Hannah potty-trained by the end of the summer. (I really don't want two babes in diapers!!) So, this week has been a whole lot of talking about it and not so much training, but more introduction. But come Tuesday afternoon we are going full-force. Taking away her diapers except at nap and night...we should see how it goes!

And lastly, you all know that I had an ultrasound today and we did indeed find out the sex. However, we won't be sharing until Sunday. Baby is very healthy with a (finally) established due date of November 11th. Growing strong and bigger. (So is its Mommy) Heart rate comes in at 144 and it's an active little one. So throw your bets out there now because you only have to wait a few more days. here is a belly-shot for you:

Little Gymnast

We enrolled Hannah into pre-school gymnastics. It is the cutest little class ever. It is a gym made only for little ones. The Little Gym of Edina is fantastic. We had an awesome time. The 45 minute class is full of tumbling, singing, dancing, bubbles, balls, parachutes and more...made perfectly for little kids. We thought Hannah would be shy in a new class of 15 other kids- but she ran around like crazy and was a complete social bug. Her favorite activities were probably the parachute and bubbles. Enjoy some photos from her first organized preschool class!

It was the perfect class to help her improve on those motor skills. We had a great time and look forward to this being our new Saturday morning tradition!

Blah.

Well the "busy season" is coming to an end in photography land...so possibly I will update this thing more than once every two weeks....but do not get too hopeful. :) This weekend consisted of a whole lot of nothing on the home front. Justin tried to clean up the yard, which proved to be much harder than past years...

We let Hannah free outside as much as possible while the temps are still decent. She loves it outside, and I am dreading the cold days ahead.

However, to prepare for the days where we are locked in our homes warm-away from freezing temps and snow piles that will consume little Hannah, I have been getting lost in the online world of Pinterest. I wish I could take credit for this activity that we tested out this afternoon, but I cannot. It's a little project that I found on Pinterest.

Fill some baggies with a squirt of paint. Tape it up on a sliding glass door...

...ignore your husband as he makes fun of you and confidently claims that it is, "a stupid idea, found on a stupid website."

...wait for it...oh yeah- ha! Watch your husband join in the mess-free paiting fun.
