The Hum of Snowblowers...

It is 10am and I am hiding away from the snow in my freezing cold basement, still in my jammies. A beloved "snow day" has blessed me with the day off from work. It looks brutal outside. Good thing my lovely neighbor came over and plowed our driveway for us. (Have we mentioned how much we love our neighbors?!) I am going to confront the outdoors later today because I want to try to get some snowy photos. Although I hate the snow, I will give Mother Nature some credit because it does look beautiful out there!

I got the phone call at 6:45 this morning that school was called off for the day. So like the good Mom that I am, I got Hannah up, dressed her warm and sent her to Laura's for the day. I promise you, she really does have more fun at Laura's house than with me. She has turned into one social gal and likes being with her friends...or maybe just seeing her boyfriend, Jesse. But either way- I got the day to myself. So I made breakfast....

Complete with a cup of caffeinated coffee. (I have been caffeine free for a few weeks now) So basically, I am flying high.

...Which might explain why my entire house was cleaned by 8am. But that is a good thing, because believe it or not, I actually have a lot that I would still like to. First on the list...dump a bunch of photos on you guys...so here we go:

Baby girl is all about dress-up, stickers, forts, kisses and her Mommy...

Clearly the kid needs a haircut, we know. But it is so dang hard to cut off those cute little baby curls. The tips of her hair remind me of her "infant-days." And this Mama is hanging on to every bit of "baby" that she can still get. Hope you are all cozy warm inside enjoying the view and not the driving conditions today! Be safe!

A Father's Disappointment...and Other Ramblings

Hannah makes her Daddy very proud. But for the first time in her mighty 12 months of life- she disappointed him. When Justin was growing up, they had a family tradition of Pizza-Fridays. Determined to carry on this tradition of (pizza 4 times in one month-of course he wants to keep this tradition going) he selected this Friday to begin. So pizza it was....Hannah's first encounter with Justin's favorite food...

...and it was an absolute flop. She wouldn't eat it (even though Justin desperately tried to salvage their relationship by force-feeding it to her) but all she wanted to do was pull it apart and wait patiently for some fruit. It was a very sad night for Justin.

Moving on...Hannah playing with some new garage sale bargains!

And lastly, here are some amazing photos I snapped the other night when we were forced to wake Hannah and huddle in the basement from some bad weather rolling through Elk River:

Snowed In

What a storm.

Photobucket

Since we were snowed in, we had to get creative so we wouldn't go stir-crazy. Check out Justin's newest game that he plays with Hannah....

Poor babe. She is going to look back at these photos some day and wonder what the heck her father was thinking!! He made up for it later by giving her some wild shoulder-rides all around the house.

Hope you all survived the snow...stay warm!
