The Proof is in the Pudding

Pudding (amongst other thicker foods like yogurt and oatmeal) are great "no-fail" foods when learning how to use a spoon. Enjoy some photos from tonight's dessert portion of the menu:

She was so upset when there was none left!

A Father's Disappointment...and Other Ramblings

Hannah makes her Daddy very proud. But for the first time in her mighty 12 months of life- she disappointed him. When Justin was growing up, they had a family tradition of Pizza-Fridays. Determined to carry on this tradition of (pizza 4 times in one month-of course he wants to keep this tradition going) he selected this Friday to begin. So pizza it was....Hannah's first encounter with Justin's favorite food...

...and it was an absolute flop. She wouldn't eat it (even though Justin desperately tried to salvage their relationship by force-feeding it to her) but all she wanted to do was pull it apart and wait patiently for some fruit. It was a very sad night for Justin.

Moving on...Hannah playing with some new garage sale bargains!

And lastly, here are some amazing photos I snapped the other night when we were forced to wake Hannah and huddle in the basement from some bad weather rolling through Elk River:

An Update Using Pictures...

Hannah is hanging in there- however, we have learned that: teething is serious business.

She continues to sport a low-fever and a sour mood, but otherwise she is doing much better. Here is what we have been up to:

Photobucket

Hannah & Daddy put up safety locks on all the drawers and cupboards...

Photobucket

...So that Hannah can no longer be at risk to touching harmful things.

Photobucket

I attended Kim's baby shower- a high school friend. Three out of the seven girls in this photo are pregnant. (Please do not guess, in fear of offending one of us who is NOT pregnant.) Due dates of June, August and September!! Wowza.

Photobucket

Hannah showed off her latest break dancing moves.

Photobucket

She tried eating jell-o.

Photobucket

She surrendered to the fact that her gums are too sore to eat anything...

Photobucket

...so instead, she threw her jell-o across the kitchen.

Photobucket

...I laughed as Daddy attempted to clean her up.

Photobucket

Hannah has been reading books.

Photobucket

But then decided that she also needed to play a drum....at the same time of reading books.

Above is Justin and Hannah's new way of saying, "I love you." They rub heads together and make weird noises. (Go figure, Justin taught her this wonderful social skills- as if they have been animalized right here in our living room.)

Photobucket

Hannah banged on the door for Riley to come in and play. (a.k.a. so she could pull, bite and drool on him.)

...and Riley accepted his playdate invitation.

Obviously we have not been up to a whole lot other than making our way through this whole teething business. We will keep you posted if anything exciting should happen! Hope you are having a good start to your week!

Little Sprout

A nice juicy afternoon snack will cure any pre-snow-blues.
(But seriously, stop with the snow already.)

(P.S. We had to throw this Target Clearance shirt in the trash...tonight was also spaghetti night for the babe- and the shirt just did not hold up too well.)

Here are some other random photos from our evening...

Lazy Weekend...

Hannah and Justin spent a lot of time together this weekend...Apparently she got sick of her Daddy, because by the time I was finally around- she was beating him up and attempting to suffocate him!....

I was able to spend Saturday night soaking in some much over-due sister time with Tiff in uptown. Dinner, drinks and catching up! Thanks for having me Tipper!

In other "Hannah-news" Justin and I did something that probably is not recommended in most pediatric books- we fed our kid a taste of chocolate. :) So cheers to bending the rules and celebrating how hard she has been working at mastering this crawling and rolling thing! I made chocolate chip pancakes and it would have been just rude to eat them infront of Little H, so we let her join in the fun....

....yep, she's my daughter- LOVES chocolate!

Have a fabulous week everyone!

Bleh-Kinda-Days

Our whole house is now sick with sore throats, runny noses and little coughs. We have a teething child, it won't stop snowing, and both of us cannot keep our heads above water at work. But here we are- making our best efforts to enjoy life, slow it down when we can and have a little fun.

So, we eat snacks on the floor.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We listen to people's weird teething-advice like: Babies love pickles when they are teething...

Photobucket

...Hannah was not a fan of pickles....

Photobucket

We now make her eat her dinners out of bowls that are suctioned to her tray so that Riley doesn't gain 20 pounds over the next year. She didn't quite get the whole bowl-thing and kept looking inside to see if there was more...

And Justin and I found ourselves taking out our stress by rapidly firing Hannah's toys at one another in a living room war. I was aiming for Justin's head when I accidently hit the lamp...

Photobucket

Whoops. I guess that is why you are supposed to do those things outside....but hey, we were desperate to get out some stress related agression. And it worked, as we stood in our living room ducking behind couches, running in-and-out of doorways and planning our next move, I have not laughed that hard in a while.

Cheers to making the best out of every situation.
