Dog-Gone Crazy

Justin and I are fastly approaching our three year wedding anniversary. In some ways, like our young age, it's quite hard to believe that we are such, "old married farts!" In other ways, it's not surprising- it's "Justin and I!" I wouldn't expect anything other than three solid years with him. But along with the tying of the knot, tossing of the bouquet and shortly after you "seal the deal" the questions about children start....when are you having children?......are you pregnant yet?......what are you waiting for?!......How many do you want?.......Hurry up and start!....

Well I'm here to assure both of our parents, some more vocal than others about not being ready to become Grandparents...that we are not having children anytime soon. (Please don't ask me to define, "soon.")

One thing Justin and I have learned is that there is no better sound than the pitter-patter of little paws running down the hall....no better feeling than the excited little face that greets you at the door after a long day of work....no better moments than laughing hysterically at a little fur-ball that wants nothing more than your undivided attention.

In reality, we've done well raising Riley- well trained dog. Comes when he's called, potty trained, people person, outdoor dog, lap dog....everything you could want from the little guy. However, one area that we obviously didn't do well in is not setting him straight that Justin is the "man-of-the-house," not Riley. He is quite the spoiled little thing....it's hard not to do...must I remind you of how adorable he is?!

As you can probably piece together just by seeing how much I write about him, you can see that he is our child. When you don't have children- your pets become your kids. You talk to them, pamper them, love them and adore every little thing it is that they do. Once you get used to one, you might decide that you have much more love to give. You may realize that your "Child" needs a sibling, someone to help teach them how to share, have differences, become tolerant and for simple reasons as a playmate.

So that lands us here....

It's a Boy!

Maxwell "Max" Gunner Johnston

Born of 5-4-2008

Max is a Vizsla Puppy (VEESH-la) who we will be adopting on

June 21st, 2008.

Below is a picture of a Vizsla Puppy that I found online, but it's not Maxwell.

If you would like to see some actual pictures of Max and his siblings romping around you can visit his website below:

For more information on Vizslas (because I had never heard of them either until Justin brought up the breed) you can follow this link:

So there you have it! We're a "Dog-Family" for now...Riley will no longer be an only-child! Can't wait for June 21st to bring Max into our family!

It's back to midnight bathroom breaks, chewed up shoes, accidents on the rug, and puppy training! ....not to mention Riley's sibling rivalry!

Stay tuned for pictures of our newest little guy!

Max looks so sad compared to Riley. Pick the one on the lower right of box picture.
